At LPPT, human movement is our specialty. Whether you are an elite athlete performing at the highest level, a recreational athlete, or simply a parent who wants to play with their child, how efficiently you move dramatically affects how well you function. Human movement is fascinating and we know that the better you move, the better you will feel, and ultimately the better you will perform - whatever the task!
Most pain, especially the chronic nagging pains people suffer from are due to dysfunctional movement patterns somewhere in the body which often leads to overuse elsewhere. Many times the painful area is actually the area that is overused and overstressed and not the area that is actually dysfunctional. Unfortunately, much of the time, our medical system chases the pain and focuses too heavily on treating the painful symptoms and not nearly enough on identifying and treating the real dysfunction!
Our goal at LPPT is to fix your problem permanently and not just offer a “band-aid” solution for the superficial symptoms. We believe that movement and the human body need to be looked at as a whole and not as individualized parts. Our driving goal is to restore optimum motion in the body, which leads to decreased pain and improved function. Every individual is unique in that we each have different bodies and different functional goals. To that end, we believe that your treatment also needs to be unique. We do not follow cookbook protocols, or prescribe to the theory that one approach works best for all of our clients. Each client is evaluated using a “whole body integrated approach”, and then a treatment plan is developed working closely with the client, and related specifically to their unique needs. While you are with us our focus is entirely on you the client and we emphasize your active participation in the rehab/training process. This integrated treatment style promotes a quicker recovery with lasting results.
