When it comes to your health, you need to be sure you are getting the most for your money. With more and more out of pocket expenses including over-inflated insurance premiums, high deductibles, and costly co-insurance, it is imperative that you understand how to make the healthcare system work for you and how to own your own healthcare. We have all become programmed to believe that seeing a primary care physician is always the first step to address our physical pains. However, this may not always be the best course of action. Instead of reflexively spending hundreds of dollars on unnecessary medical doctor visits, or worse, ignoring your pain because of expensive healthcare costs, start with a visit to a doctor of physical therapy first, for all your back, joint, or muscle issues. Read more about when to skip your primary care physician and go straight to a physical therapist.
Lone Peak Physical therapy is 100% therapist owned, which means our only motivation is to help get you back to your active life quickly and naturally! We do not benefit from prescribing expensive, pain masking, medications that do little to solve the actual problem, and we don’t promote surgery as the first option. Our only focus is on relieving your pain and getting you moving again.
You have the freedom to choose your physical or occupational therapist, so take advantage of it. A referral from a doctor is NOT required to see a therapist, but if a doctor does refer you to therapy, the choice of where you go is totally yours. Consider the fact that many times your medical provider has a vested interest in referring you to a specific therapy clinic. What you need to know is that all therapy is not created equal, not even close! Ask yourself, “Am I really getting the best treatment available?” Your health is a big deal, do your own research and make sure you choose the right therapy team for you.
